Situated in Aston Tirrold, South Oxfordshire lies our newly refurbished Chequers country pub & restaurant. At the heart of the village, we welcome you to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. Meet Olivier
Staying true to my classic Roux training, I pride myself in using fresh, local & seasonal produce, from Chiltern muntjac to foraging for mushrooms and wild garlic. A "no-frills" approach to cooking, I always strive to bring out the most honest flavours in my dishes.

My menu nods to the past with various classics, alongside new creations which can be served in the middle of the table - sharing is encouraged but not essential!
Wine
Our wine list features an eclectic mix of timeless classics from the great regions of Europe alongside various "raw" or natural wines the world over. We are proud to showcase wines mainly from small-scale growers who often employ traditional methods, following organic and biodynamic principles in the vineyard. We feel our list offers value and breadth at all price points, though our love for mature French classics from Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Rhone shines through further down the page.
